This is a modern streetwear take on real historical artwork: two Baroque-style cherubs extracted and reworked with added blackletter lettering reading "unholy" (with a red outlined echo behind it), a small line "Not yours to save," and two crosshair marks.
The lower cherub — the one holding up a hand mirror, with a sash across its torso and a flowing drape — is drawn from the plate "The northern stellar hemisphere of antiquity" in Andreas Cellarius's Harmonia Macrocosmica (1660), a celebrated celestial atlas that paired the era's astronomical knowledge with lavishly engraved, hand-colored allegorical scenes. The source of the upper cherub, shown diving head-first with outstretched wings and a red drape, is not recorded.
Both figures are rendered as plump, winged putti in the warm, fleshy coloring typical of 17th-century engraving, here reproduced with a visible halftone dot texture. The composition sets the two cherubs above and below the central lettering for a bold, contrasting mix of old-master imagery and contemporary graphic design.
Real art, not AI. A modern take on a real original, reimagined, with our own lettering and graphic marks added. No AI-generated images, ever.
A print that lasts. Water-based pigment inks are pressed into the fabric — no plastic, no cracking, no peeling — so the design stays soft and breathes with the shirt.
Garment-dyed color. Dyed into the finished garment for a soft, vintage-washed tone with subtle depth — richer and more lived-in than a standard printed tee.
Printed on a premium Comfort Colors 1717 garment-dyed tee — heavyweight ringspun cotton with a soft, broken-in feel and a relaxed unisex fit. True to size; size down for a more fitted look.
