Alphonse Mucha (1860–1939) was a Czech artist who became one of the defining figures of Art Nouveau, celebrated for his decorative panels and posters featuring elegant women framed by flowing lines, floral motifs, and ornate borders. His distinctive style, often called "le style Mucha," made him one of the most sought-after graphic artists of turn-of-the-century Paris.
This work, commonly known as "Zodiac," was originally designed as a calendar and later adopted by the literary and artistic magazine La Plume — its masthead appears at the top of this printing, along with a monthly calendar band across the bottom. It stands as one of Mucha's most famous and widely reproduced decorative images.
The composition centers on a woman shown in profile, with long flowing hair and an elaborate crown-like headdress set with jewels and star ornaments. Behind her head, a great circular halo is ringed by twelve medallions bearing the signs of the zodiac. Surrounding the figure are richly patterned borders of foliage and swirling ornament, and her garment is scattered with stars, tying the whole design to its celestial theme.
Real art, not AI. An authentic work by a real artist — Alphonse Mucha, reproduced from the original — never machine-generated.
A print that lasts. Water-based pigment inks are pressed into the fabric — no plastic, no cracking, no peeling — so the design stays soft and breathes with the shirt.
Garment-dyed color. Dyed into the finished garment for a soft, vintage-washed tone with subtle depth — richer and more lived-in than a standard printed tee.
Printed on a premium Comfort Colors 1717 garment-dyed tee — heavyweight ringspun cotton with a soft, broken-in feel and a relaxed unisex fit. True to size; size down for a more fitted look.
